Bristol-Myers Squibb is a global BioPharma company which manufactures prescription pharmaceuticals in several therapeutic areas, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis and psychiatric disorders. BMS has been located in Ireland since 1964. BMS main Irish operations include a large-scale biologics manufacturing facility based in Cruiserath, Dublin 15.
For their new state of the art biologics manufacturing facility in Cruiserath, Storage Systems Limited has completed a large installation of High-Density Storage Units for the storage of archive documents. BMS chose Compactus electronic mobile storage units, that are 2.3m high and 1m wide with shelves been tailored to the archive documents to minimise wasted space.
To ensure operator safety all mobile bases are fitted with infra-red light photocell beams which immediately stop all movement of the mobile bases if they are in contact with an operator or obstruction in an aisle.
